Adult Assessment
A range of Cognitive ability and attainment tests can be used to identify an adult’s strengths and possible weaknesses. Identification of a SpLD can be essential at any stage in life and may be required to ensure particular support, for example within the workplace, through the Access to Work Scheme. Access to Work is a government scheme aimed at helping people with a disability to alter their workplace or gain assistance to make their job easier. As dyslexia is considered a disability under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Regulations 2003, dyslexics may be eligible for assistance through Access to Work.
